Milverton Parish Council meeting report

March 2020

Under Planning For Parish Council Comment was a notification to fell one deciduous tree (species unspecified) within the Milverton conservation area at The Manse, Fore Street, Milverton. The Parish Council unanimously supported the application.

No candidates have come forward for the two Councillor Vacancies for Co-option. Councillors will continue to ask residents who might wish to be co-opted. Please contact the Clerk if you would like to become a Councillor.

It was passed by a majority of councillors that the public toilets would be refurbished to include a single unisex toilet block with disabled access and an archive room. It was also decided that the Parish noticeboard will be located on the exterior of the building and will display the village footpaths and parish council documents.

A temporary repair has been carried out on the gate into the allotments and quotes are being obtained for improving the entrance.

It was unanimously agreed that three speed indicator devices will be purchased and installed in the village to help make the village safer from speeding vehicles. The devices will be located on Wood Street, Sand Street and Station Road. It was also agreed that a further device will be purchased and installed in the 2021/22 financial year and will be located in Butts Way.

The Parish Council has also agreed to purchase and install a new dog bin in the High Street.

The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Monday, 6 April in the Victoria Rooms at 7pm and the Annual Parish Meeting will be taking place in the Victoria Rooms on Monday, 27 April at 7pm.
