After this very trying year where we were not able to visit our friends and families, carry on with our village activities, nor stage events such as the Monthly Market, the Community Cafe, the Friday Club, the Music Club, going to the pub… and not least: the Milverton Street Fair — the list goes on and on — The Milverton Trust thought it would be good to raise people’s’ spirits at Christmas and decided upon lighting up a village tree as a beacon of hope for a better New Year.
We hope you have enjoyed the lights on the Hawthorn tree just opposite the shop. Our thanks are extended to Sheila Williamson whose land and tree she was happy for us to use and decorate; to Peter Withers for his electrical connections and also to Arthur Whittle who supported us — literally — by arriving with his Manitou and cherry picking cage. This will now be an annual event which perhaps we can augment each year. Car Park tree next.. ??
So on behalf of the Milverton Trust let’s hope for a brighter, healthier New Year. Best Wishes for a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
