Recreation Ground March update

Sports club news

During a rather fragmented year the Milverton cricket team was revitalised in 2020, offering players of all abilities the chance to play some regular friendly cricket in front of a very supportive crowd. We are always seeking individuals to join in the competitive but fun games held at the MRG so if you are a potential visiting team, or someone expressing their interest in coming on board please email Andy Bullen at

We saw some football matches played last year and hope to see a resumption of regular fixtures once Covid restrictions are lifted.

New management of the Pavilion Clubhouse

In July 2020 we have had an exciting change of management, when the team from the Bear Inn, Wiveliscombe took over running the bar and hospitality functions on behalf of the trustees.

The new team headed up by John Coward intends to provide the best in a variety of events to showcase what the village and parish have to offer as well as providing a venue for personal, community, society functions and meetings, including weddings, where our dedicated wedding team will assist you in arranging a day to remember.

Inside the clubhouse there is a recently redecorated modern ‘Longstop’ bar, our main versatile function hall and the ‘Chris Greenhow’ games room with Sky Sports showing in both the Longstop Bar and the Chris Greenhow Room.

The team can provide hot beverages, with our coffee supplied by local company Brazier Coffee, Wellington, as well as draught lager, cider, Guinness and Keg Ale and a comprehensive selection of wines, soft drinks and spirits.

Every Friday evening, from 5pm to 8pm the’ Hungry Bear’ comes to site well stocked with their array of home cooked takeaway food which can be eaten inside with a nice cold pint.

You may likely find it here during our big events, particularly our cricketing Sunday afternoons and they are available to hire. To keep up to date, see the menu and for all enquiries contact the team via Hungry Bear Facebook page.

Unfortunately, the Pavilion Clubhouse is currently closed due to Covid restrictions.
