6 August saw the long-awaited reopening of the club, which we have arranged and rearranged so many times. However, the wait was worth it as it was wonderful to see all our friends both old and new.
Our reopening saw us move to the Milverton Cricket Club, where we were warmly welcomed by Steph the area manager equipped with plenty of hand sanitizer and masks for those who chose to wear them.
Although a new venue, we cannot forget the years we spent at the Victoria Rooms, to whom we express our thanks.
The first of hopefully many meetings was a welcome back coffee morning, and the sun streamed through the huge windows and with the doors opening onto the playing fields gave a lovely vista and plenty of fresh air. There was lots of reminiscing about historical football matches, past cricket matches, the previous old pavilion and lots more besides. All in all a really enjoyable and successful morning
Our meeting is every Friday at 10.30am to 2pm and will follow the traditional refreshments followed by entertainment, a lovely tasty lunch cooked by our volunteers, raffle and final refreshments.
New members and volunteers are always welcome. Just pop in for a coffee and see what we do or give me a call.
