It is hard to believe we are in October already and watching the leaves changing from beautiful shades of Summer to wonderful shades of Autumn.
Autumn is also time for us to be thinking about our annual Harvest Festival auction whose proceeds are donated to a charity of the member’s choice. It is taking place at 11am on the 8 October this year.
Once again our auctioneer is the very experienced Helene (Rector) and monies raised will be donated to MIND Somerset who have been one of the many charities working so hard across all age groups during the pandemic.
If you would like to donate any produce or come and join us for the auction, please give me call. All welcome.
We have settled well into our new venue at the Cricket Club and are enjoying the additional space and lots of fresh air. The ability to open large doors overlooking the well-manicured playing fields, and further in the distance, the very old road to Wiveliscombe and beyond also enhances the atmosphere.
During the past month we have welcomed five new members and three new volunteers which is incredible. However, we do have space for more, so if you think you may be interested in joining in either capacity, just give me a call.
Due to tremendous generosity, enough money has been raised to purchase a dish washer to assist our volunteers. A huge thank you to all who helped us do this.
October sees us having a singing along, seated Wimbledon and other fun and inclusive events. Don’t forget most importantly the general chatter, laughter and companionship rounding off with a delicious meal.
Hope to see you soon at the Cricket Club, Butts Way, Milverton every Friday 10.30am to 2pm
