Parish Council December update

The November was a reduced and sombre affair, with Councillors hearing of the death of Cllr Roger Cotton the previous day. Roger had been a Parish Councillor for many years and served on the Amenity Committee as well as taking responsibility for the maintenance of the village defibrillator. His input into Council business will be sorely missed.

Only time-critical items on the agenda were dealt with, the remainder being carried forward to the December meeting:

  • Comments in support of a number of planning applications were agreed to be submitted to Somerset West and Taunton Council (SWT)
  • Grant monies received from SWT re the maintenance of Open Spaces are to be passed on the the Recreation Ground (£2,900) and St Michael’s PCC (£600)

It was agreed to award the contract for the replacement of the toilet roof to Courtney Bowden & Son Roofing. This work will hopefully be completed before Christmas.

The next Council meeting will be held on Monday 6 December at the Victoria Rooms, starting at 7pm.
If you have any queries on any Parish Council matter please let me know.
