The Victoria Rooms is still open for business, although, quite understandably, a number of events have been postponed. Hopefully, the Covid situation will start to ease and things will begin to return to normal. Please check on the events pages or on the posters outside the Rooms for any changes to planned events.
The monthly market didn’t take place in January but that was nothing to do with the pandemic as, traditionally, there is never a market in January. However, it is planned to hold the market on Saturday 5 February when there will be the usual great variety of goods on sale together with the delicious cakes available in Victoria’s Café.
If anyone would like a stall at any of our future monthly markets, please contact Sally on 01823 400320 to check availability.
Although there was no market in January the 100 Club draw still took place and the winner this time was Frances Vail – well done Frances!
As mentioned last month, Maggie is still very happy to receive used postage stamps not just from all our Christmas cards but throughout the year. These can be dropped off at the Post Office during opening hours, left in the pouch in the Reading Room at the Victoria Rooms or please contact Maggie on 01823 400142 or firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
There are still a couple of stalls available for Victoria’s Craft Fair on Saturday 19 March. If you would like to reserve a table or have any questions, please contact Sue on 01823 400609 or email@example.com. Stalls cost just £10 each. The Fair will run from 10am to 2pm and, in addition to the stalls in the main hall, Victoria’s Café will be open for light refreshments so put the date in your diaries and come along on the 19 March and purchase some locally made crafts and, also, enjoy some tasty cake.
The Victoria Rooms’ AGM was held on Tuesday, 11 January 2022 and the majority of the committee have agreed to stand for a further year. Some representatives of local organisations have stood down and our grateful thanks to them for their help and support during their time in office. We look forward to welcoming their replacements once they have been nominated by their organisations. There is also one vacancy for a village representative so if there is anyone who has a couple of hours to spare and who would like to help with the running of our village hall, please give our Chairman, Phil, a call on 01823 400609.
Our Facebook page is an excellent up to date source of information about what is happening in our village hall so do take a look at and check out what is going on. Events are also publicised on the village website at milverton.org.uk/victoria-rooms.
