Victoria Rooms March update

It looks as if things may be returning to something more like normal from March so, hopefully, more events will be taking place at the Victoria Rooms and the number of attendees will be able to return to pre-Covid levels. However, it is still best to check on the website or on the posters outside the Rooms, just in case there need to be any last-minute changes.

The monthly market took place in February and was well attended, with the usual good selection of stalls as well as the delicious cakes being served in the Reading Room. The markets will now continue to take place on the first Saturday of each month with an extra-special market taking place on Saturday, 4 June, in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. If you haven’t had a table before but would like to be part of the celebration market, please contact Sally on 01823 400320 to book a stall. There may also be spaces available on other dates so, again, please speak to Sally if you are interested.

The draw for the February 100 Club took place at the market and the winner this time was Rachel Renfree – well done Rachel!

Don’t forget to come along to Victoria’s Craft Fair on Saturday 19 March. The main hall will be filled with stalls selling handmade crafts, so there is bound to be something for everyone. The Fair will run from 10am to 2pm and, in addition to the stalls, Victoria’s Café will be open for light refreshments. Do come along and support local craftspeople and pick up a unique handmade item.

Although the summer seems a long way off, with the forthcoming Jubilee celebrations, we are already getting enquiries regarding the hiring of our gazebos. If you are planning an event and would like to hire a gazebo, please contact Philip on 01823 400609 to check availability.

Our Facebook page is an excellent up to date source of information about what is happening in our village hall so do take a look at and check out what is going on.
