Busy Bees owl experience

When the Busy Bees met in Wilscombe Woods in late February the sun was shining and there were lots of signs of spring around us.

We looked particularly at tawny owls who breed in the woods at that time, and were lucky enough to have Zoe Smith to tell us all about them and their habits. The group went on a tawny owl trail in the woods, dissected owl pellets and made models.

It was very good to learn about this aspect of nature in springtime, and we are watching a webcam in a tawny owl nesting box with anticipation.
