As part of Milverton’s extensive Platinum Jubilee celebrations, on Thursday, 2 June, the Victoria Rooms in Fore Street will play host to the many talented artisans who live in this lovely village, whose work will be on display at the Made in Milverton Exhibition.
There is no charge to visit the exhibition, which is open from 11am until 6pm, although some of the pieces will be on sale. There will be a wide variety of work on display, including paintings, wooden pieces, stained glass, patchwork and a whole lot more. There will also be the opportunity to meet some of the artists and craftspeople and, possibly, commission your own unique piece.
Light refreshments will be available between 11am and 4pm at Victoria’s Café in the Reading Room.
On display during the Exhibition, and at various times throughout the month of June, will be the photographic pageant of our Queen’s reign created by Milverton’s Bev Blackmore together with the opportunity of having your photo taken with the Queen!
Also on the 2 June, between 2pm and 5pm is our Walking Treasure Hunt around the village. This consists of photographs of features and buildings in the village, often taken in close-up, together with written clues – all you have to do is locate the features and buildings in the photographs and answer the questions! There is no charge to enter and The Globe have very generously offered a £50 voucher to the winning team. Pick up your question sheet from the Victoria Rooms from 2pm and make sure they are returned by 5pm so they can be marked and the lucky winners announced.
Do come along to the Victoria Rooms on Thursday 2 June – you won’t be disappointed!
