Busy Bees

Busy Bees learn about Ukraine

In November the Busy Bees met in the Victoria Rooms to find out about life in Ukraine. We were lucky to have Olga, Anna and Nina, three Ukrainian ladies living in Milverton, to help us and four Ukrainian children who are at school here. They have come from places all over Ukraine such as Sumy, Kherson, Ternopil and Kiev.

We collected sunflower seeds from the same sunflower head and wherever we are next Spring, Milverton or Ukraine, we shall plant our seeds and remember our meeting. The Busy Bees made windmills in Ukrainian colours, ate pancakes that they filled with traditional fillings, and learnt some Ukrainian words and phrases. As a finale they learnt a Ukrainian dance which they performed for their parents.
