We’re already one month into 2023 and the Victoria Rooms’ AGM will have taken place and we will, hopefully, have some more volunteers happy to help with the running of our village hall. If you missed the meeting, but would still like to get involved, please contact Philip on 01823 400609 if you would like some information about becoming a Trustee or Sue, again on 01823 400609, if you are interested in organising or helping with future fundraising events.
As mentioned last month, Somerset Opera will be performing The Gondoliers and will be at the Victoria Rooms on Saturday 25 March. The performance starts at 7.30pm with doors opening at 7pm and there will be a bar. Tickets cost £10 each and are available from Milverton Stores (cash only please) or via Sue on 01823 400609 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. This is sure to be a very popular evening, especially as it is their first performance in Milverton for three years, so do get your tickets early.
Our first market of 2023 is on Saturday 4 February. As always, Victoria’s Café will be selling the usual delicious array of homemade cakes to accompany a cup of coffee and a chat. There may be tables available at future monthly markets and, if you are interested in booking one, please contact Sally on 01823 400320 or email email@example.com to check on dates.
The monthly draw for our 100 Club winner will take place at the market. The winner of the January draw was Sue Farrent – well done Sue!
Please continue to save your postage stamps throughout the year and donate these to the Victoria Rooms. They can be left in the pouch in the Reading Room if the hall is open or placed in an envelope and put in the postbox on the wall outside the hall. This is not just a Christmas initiative and stamps are welcome all year round – it is a great way of raising money from something we would normally throw away!
