Ring for the King!

An appeal to recruit bellringers for the Coronation

Ring for the King
Ring for the King

Next year will feature a rare and important occasion in British life – the coronation of King Charles III. The bell ringing community is putting out an appeal to recruit more ringers so they are trained in time to ‘Ring for the King’. More information on the national appeal website Ring for the King.

The Milverton Benefice ringers would like to play their part and train some new ringers for this important occasion and we’d like you to consider joining us. The importance of exercising both body and mind is often spelt out on TV and in the media and bell-ringing ticks all the boxes. As a ringer you join a UK wide community who will make you welcome wherever you go. And for the more adventurous there are many ringing communities in other countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.

We are confident that you can join us and be an independent ringer in time to ‘Ring for the King’. To help you decide whether it is something that you will enjoy, we are planning an open tower and taster session at Milverton Church on the morning of Saturday 25 February. The session will include a brief introductory talk, viewing the bells in action, a visit to the top of the tower to see the views, a chance to ring a bell with help of course!

If you would like to come along on the 25 February or would like more information, please contact Heather at or mobile 07966 421950.
