Busy Bees

Busy Bees

Busy Bees is a group for children with links to the church although not based at the church. It was started by Julia Hatfield during 2021 when she was encouraged by the enthusiasm of the children who helped in making and maintaining the Easter garden outside the church porch.

The monthly sessions last about an hour, parents are welcome, and are based around people and resources around us such as:

  • keeping bees
  • looking after sheep
  • growing and harvesting vegetables
  • den building in the woods
  • flat bread baking on open fires

The children go home with an activity sheet which is entirely optional. It has age related tasks, some of which have bible links. There might be something to read, watch, make, cook, learn. The aim is for the group to be fun and held outdoors as far as possible.

Sessions usually take place once a month on Sunday. Check the event calendar for upcoming dates.

What to bring

We suggest:

  • Clothes suitable for the weather conditions as the activities are mainly outside
  • Sun protection on sunny days
  • A water bottle
